A large scale agroforestry cocoa plantation located in one of Nicaragua's tropical forests. Finca San Sebastian aims to provide fine cocoa catered to our customers' needs.
Our cocoa is fermented in a traditional wooden crate and sun-dried in our farm. We give specialty customers the opportunity to develop their unique flavor profiles and aromas.
Located in the Southeast of Nicaragua, our plantation is nestled in a tropical forest climate that boasts 8-9 months of rain with a short dry season. We are surrounded by secondary and primary forest and offer a sanctuary to our local fauna.
With 400Ha planted, and plans for an additional 300Ha in the coming years, we will strive to be a sustainable and reliable supplier of fine cocoa to buyers and specialty chocolatiers.
Our plantation consists of five different cocoa varieties developed in Costa Rica by the Tropical Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE), and in Trinidad & Tobago by Imperial College.
